8 MISCONCEPTION ABOUT THE SKIN


 
   Misconceptions are those beliefs which are wrong or a wrong idea about something. Misconceptions about the skin are common probably, what we have heard or based on superstitions and myths.
 
WHY I SAY SUPERSTITIONS ARE PART OF THE MISCONCEPTION WE HAVE.

  When I was younger my elder sister had Acne issues and my mother was said "when you grow up your acne will go away.
   We are grown and my sister still has acne. My mother had a Misconceptions about the issue from what she has heard. 
     I once believed this misconception, but not anymore. I have done my research and study and I have seen and learnt, alot over the years.

EXPENSIVE PRODUCTS ARE BETTER THAN THE CHEAPER ONES:
 This is not true as with time you come to realise that there are good and bad products in all price categories.
 
   What makes a product good is the formulation process that makes it good. This should help you buy good affordable products, without breaking the bank. 

PEOPLE OUT GROW THEIR ACNE:
My sister is in her 20’s but suffers from acne. We should all come to the term that not everyone will out grow and in their teenage age.
  
  There is no guarantee that if you did not have acne in your adolescent age, that you won’t have in your adulthood . Acne can be caused by many factors such as 
             
  • HORMONES: This is behind most of the adult acne in women. Women experience this during their periods, ovulation, pregnancy and menopause.

BLACK HEADS MEANS YOU HAVE DIRTY SKIN: 
    Blackheads is caused by pores being clogged with sebum (oil)  combined with dead cells getting in the way. Always remember that black head is cause by hormonal imbalance and not dirty skin. 

SKINCARE OVER NUTRITION: "You are what you eat" a good and nutritional balance is necessary for your skin to look healthy. They are some things that a healthy and nutritional diet can do that a skin product cannot do. Such as
  •   Zinc: It has a lot of anti-inflammatory that is beneficial to your skin, as it protects the skin from harmful UV radiation,  It also helps with healing process. Zinc can be found in eggs, red meat, legumes and so on.
  • Vitamin A: is also known as retinol, it helps reduce premature aging like wrinkle. It helps in treating acne and eczema. Vitamins a can be found in liver, egg yoke and so on.
    There are so manyVitamins and minerals  necessary to help your body and skin.
  


Being healthy within your body,will manifest physically to.Therefore, eating healthy and getting the basic minerals and vitamins you need for improving your skin should propel you to eat better.
Investing in your skin care products over nutrition and health diets is a complete waste of time.

USING PLENTY PRODUCT AT THE SAME TIME BRINGS ABOUT THE BEST RESULTS:  
       This is very untrue. Most time people tend to use a lot product at the same time as the believe it will bring about the best results. 
     At age 25 many women use up to 6-7 products, which exposes the to more than 100 chemicals, that can be harmful to them and their skin. 
  Limit your purchase on products find what best suits your skin and stick to it.


CHANGING PRODUCT OUT BASED ON TRENDS:  
     I have found that a lot of people tend to change their usually product based on the fact there is a new product In the market. 

  Am not saying that if your product your using does not satisfy you any longer you shouldn’t change it. 


SKIN CARE PRODUCTS CAN WORK LIKE A DERMAL FILLER OR BOTOX
     It is impossible for a skin product to work like Botox or Dermal filler. Botox are drastic measures to slow down aging, botox  are not surgical but injections.

     Botox are usually used in the upper part of a person’s face. The muscles absorb the Botox and help them relax more. Botox must be administered by a professional doctor. 

MAKEUP FIRST SKIN SECOND : These days people forget about their skin and think that makeup will cover up all blemishes. Instead of doing such first think and invest in your skin.

    Makeup will look flawless and effortless on a skin that is well taken care of, you won’t have to use a lot of coverage to cover up blemishes. They forget that even makeup has it's negative effects on your skin.
  
    I really hope everyone tries to change from the various misconceptions and embrace what really matters. To improve the skin you must know what's your skin problem and their  causes, and look for solutions, invest in what is necessary.
